This is the first stage of the three-stage process. This step is for the employer. To apply for Employer Accreditation, your business needs to be viable and a genuine business.
There are two types of accreditations.
Any key people in the organization cannot be on the Labour Inspectorate’s stand-down list or be permanently banned from recruiting migrants. Additional requirements need to be met if the business is placing workers with a controlling third party.
This is the second stage of the process and should be done by the employer.
You need to carry out a labour market test for the position you intend to fill. This is required to show that there are no suitable New Zealand citizens or residents available to fill the position. A labour market test is not required if the position is in the Greenlist or is paid at least twice the median wage.
You may include multiple vacancies in the same job check application where the job details are the same.
This is the third and final stage of the process and needs to be done by the employee.
A migrant worker can apply for an AEWV where an accredited employer has offered at least 30 hours of work per week. The migrant worker needs to satisfy INZ that they meet the required skills and experience as advertised by the employer.
Most AEWV holders can stay in New Zealand for up to 5 years. However, if your pay is below the median wage or you are employed in an ANZSCO level 4 or 5 job, your total stay may be shorter than 5 years.
You may be able to support your partner and dependent children. You can only support dependent children if you meet the salary threshold of $43,322.76.
You may be eligible to apply for a PSWV (Post-Study Work Visa) after completing your studies in New Zealand. You can stay up to three years in New Zealand, depending on the level and duration of your studies.
The PSWV allows you to work for any employer in any position if you have completed a Level 7 or above qualification in New Zealand, or in a job related to your studies if your qualification is a non-degree Level 7 or below. The qualification you have completed must be on the list of qualifications eligible for a PSWV.
The migrant who wants to come to New Zealand for a specific purpose or event may apply for an SPWV (Specific Purpose Work Visa). This visa enables you to work for a specific employer for the time allowed to complete the specific purpose or event.
Specific purposes may include:
You cannot include your family in your application. However, your partner and dependent children may apply for visas based on their relationship with you.
